The V4O Standard: what Grade A, Grade B and Premium mean
This is the definition we use across the whole website, on every product page and in every lot. If anything doesn't match what you read here, we'll make it up to you. No small print.
Grade A
A Grade A item has no stains, holes or tears. Buttons and zips are complete and work. The only thing allowed is minimal vintage wear, the kind you'd expect from a garment that has already had a life.
What is and isn't allowed in Grade A
- Allowed: minimal vintage wear typical of the garment.
- Allowed: complete, working buttons.
- Allowed: complete, working zips.
- Not allowed: stains.
- Not allowed: holes.
- Not allowed: tears.
- Not allowed: missing or broken buttons.
- Not allowed: incomplete or broken zips.
Grade B
Grade B is an item with a defect: a stain, a hole, a tear or noticeable wear. We don't hide it. It's sold for what it is, at a lower price, and always labelled.
If you see Grade B on a product page, it's because there's a defect. That's the whole explanation.
Premium
Premium is not a condition grade. Premium means a high-end brand: Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger, Fred Perry, Carhartt, Dickies, The North Face, among others.
That's why a Premium item can be Grade A or Grade B. They are two different things: one is about the brand, the other about condition. Always check both.
The 90/10 rule
Our standard requires at least 90% of the items in every lot to be Grade A. The 10% is the maximum limit for any faults that may have slipped through our checks, not a quota of defective items that we add to the order.
If a lot exceeds that 10%, we compensate you on your next order.
How to make a claim
If you think your lot exceeds the 10%, here's what to do:
- Deadline: you have 48 hours from receiving your order.
- How: email us at support@vintage4originals.com or message us on WhatsApp at +34 697 36 34 98, with photos of the defective items.
- What happens next: we review the photos and, if the lot exceeds 10%, we compensate you on your next order.
We only sell to trade customers. This is a B2B sale, so the 14-day withdrawal right that applies to consumer sales does not apply. The route for any issue is a claim with photos within 48 hours.
We're available Monday to Friday, 9:30 to 17:30.
